DAHLONEGA – Sophomore baseball player Andres Perez has been named the Steak 'n Shake Nighthawk of the Week for Apr. 9 as announced by the UNG athletic department on Monday.

Perez recorded a hit in all four games this week, including three home runs to extend his Peach Belt Conference leading stat to 15 homers this season.  He finished the week at 8-for-17 (.471) with four runs scored and 12 RBI. He was perfect behind the plate, catching both runners that tried to steal.

Steak 'n Shake opened its doors in November of 2015 and is a classic American brand famous for the Original Steakburger™ and hand-dipped Milk Shakes. Stop in today for breakfast, lunch, dinner or late night at 1074 Morrison Moore Parkway in Dahlonega.
 
The traditional menu for the eatery includes burgers, referred to as steakburgers, chicken fingers, fries, milkshakes and other options. The restaurant has a $4 menu and a happy hour between 2 and 5 (a.m. and p.m.) where all milkshakes are half off the regular price.
 
Beginning in the fall of 2014, the UNG athletic department began honoring one student-athlete each Monday morning as the Nighthawk of the Week. The award is chosen each Sunday evening by an award selection committee made up of members of the UNG athletics administrative staff.
