Box Score BELMONT, N.C. - In the 2018 opener, the No. 22 University of North Georgia women's tennis team had little trouble defeating Belmont Abbey, winning 9-0 on a cold Saturday morning in North Carolina. UNG is 2-0 on the season.
Felicia Baratta and
Holly Bennett, the seventh-ranked doubles team in the nation, got things going for the Nighthawks, posting an 8-1 win before the doubles teams of
Vaishali Jorge and
Emma Etelalahti and
Lexa Loden and
Adrienne Bofinger posted 8-2 victories.
UNG found success in the singles as well as all six Nighthawks gave up two or less games to their opponents across the board.
The Nighthawks will open play at home on Friday, February 9, as they play host to Brenau. First serve is set for 2 p.m. in Dahlonega.
