Box Score DAHLONEGA - The No. 22 University of North Georgia women's tennis team made quick work of their second home match of the season, defeating Carson-Newman, 9-0, Sunday afternoon at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek Park.
After all three doubles teams won by giving up at most two games to their opponents,
Adrienne Bofinger earned the first singles win of the match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.
Vaishali Jorge clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles.
Going for the clean sweep,
Felicia Baratta,
Holly Bennett and
Laura Van Der Hage each earned two-set wins, leaving the sweep in the hands of
Cibeles Zuddy. Zuddy won the first set, 6-0, but needed a tie breaker to win the match with a 7-4 tiebreak win in the second set.
The Nighthawks will again take the court in Dahlonega for their next match. Lenoir-Rhyne comes to town on Wednesday, February 21, and first serve is set for 1 p.m.
