Game Preview: The No. 25 University of North Georgia women's soccer team looks ahead to a big Peach Belt Conference matchup at UNC Pembroke Tuesday afternoon.
Scenarios: With a win over the Braves, UNG would clinch the No. 2 seed in the Peach Belt Conference tournament next week, regardless of the result against No. 4 Columbus State on Saturday. UNG will have the tiebreakers in their favor over Flagler and Lander. With a draw, the Nighthawks would be guaranteed to host a PBC quarterfinal, while a loss would put UNG in a must-win scenario in their final match of the regular season to host in the quarterfinals.

Last Week: North Georgia got back on the winning track Wednesday with a 2-0 win over Young Harris. The Nighthawks got a goal and an assist from Renee VanHorn in the match.
Scouting UNC Pembroke: The Braves are currently 7-4-1 and 4-3-1 in league play. They are unbeaten over their last four matches, including a 2-2 draw at Georgia College the last time out.
Series Versus UNC Pembroke: North Georgia is 5-7-3 against UNC Pembroke all-time and the Braves snapped UNG's six-match unbeaten streak in the PBC semifinals a year ago, winning 1-0 en route to the PBC Tournament Championship. The Nighthawks have never won in Pembroke, going 0-4-2 while visiting the Braves.
PBC Statistical Leaders: The Nighthawks lead the league in corner kicks and shots per match. They are second in the PBC in goals scored, third in points and fourth in goals allowed. Renee VanHorn is currently two goals behind in the Golden Ball race.
NCAA Statistical Rankings: Nationally, North Georgia is ninth in scoring offense, scoring 3.31 goals per match. The Nighthawks are also 15th in points per match at 8.46 points each outing.
Rankings: UNG is No. 25 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top 25. The Nightahwks are also currently ranked No. 2 in the NCAA Southeast Region Poll.
PBC Standings: The Nighthawks currently sit in a tie for second with Flagler with a match in hand. UNC Pembroke is in fifth right now. UNCP could jump all the way up to No. 2 by the end of the season by winning out, while UNG can fall no lower than fifth. Columbus State has already clinched the regular season championship.
NCAA Division II Showcase: It was announced last week that on Saturday against Columbus State, the Nighthawks will be featured as part of the NCAA Division II Showcase with the match against the Cougars being broadcast nationally over the NCAA Division II's Twitter and Facebook Live pages. To account for this, the kickoff has been pushed back five minutes to 6:05 p.m.
