CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Jordyn Sims finished the final round in a tie for 22nd individually as the University of North Georgia women's golf team placed ninth in a loaded field at the NCAA South Super Regional Preview, hosted by Lee at the Cleveland Country Club.
Sims finished with a three-round total of 236, which is the fourth-best 54-hole score in program history at 20-over-par.
Anna Greer is now tied for fifth all-time in the same category after finishing one stroke back of Sims in the tournament.
As a team, the Nighthawks shot a 957, the third-best 54-hole team score in program history and just nine strokes behind the all-time record in UNG history. The Nighthawks defeated West Florida, UNC Pembroke and Young Harris in the event, all of which were receiving votes in the first WGCA National Poll of the year.
No. 4 Barry won the tournament by 13 strokes over the host Flames. Lynn finished third, followed by Saint Leo and Florida Tech. Individually, Lee's Haverly Harrold won the tournament by two strokes, shooting a two-over 218 in the 54-hole event.
The Nighthawks will be back on the course next Monday at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational, hosted by Catawba.
