NINETY SIX, S.C. – The No. 7 University of North Georgia (UNG) women's golf team surged up the leaderboard in the final round of the Grand Harbor Classic, firing a tournament-best 5-under 283 on Tuesday to finish tied for third place alongside Lee with a three-round total of 877.
The Nighthawks climbed four spots on the final day behind a strong team performance, though Wingate claimed both the team and individual titles.
North Georgia was led by Abby Franks and Claire Bradford, who each finished tied for 10th individually with matching three-round totals of 218. Franks delivered the highlight of the day, carding a 5-under 67 in the final round, while Bradford added a 1-under 71.
Mackenzie Connell posted an even-par 72 in the final round, followed by Cora Mount with a 73 and Camryn Wright with a 75 to round out the team scoring.
Competing as an individual, Ellie Jane Riner recorded a 73 in Tuesday's final round.
North Georgia closes out the regular season April 12-13 at the UMSL Spring Invitational in St. Louis.
