DAHLONEGA – Junior women's basketball player Amber Skidgel has been named the Steak 'n Shake Nighthawk of the Week for Nov. 20 as announced by the UNG athletic department on Monday.

Skidgel was the Nighthawks' top scorer in both games of the UNG Nighthawk Classic and averaged 17 points per game in the team's three contests last week. 

She scored seven in just 18 minutes of action in blowout win over Fort Valley before posting 25 in a loss to Carson-Newman and 19 in a rout over Barton.  She connected on 11-of-24 (.458) shots from behind the 3-point line and contributed with 5.3 rebounds per contest.
 
Steak 'n Shake opened its doors in November of 2015 and is a classic American brand famous for the Original Steakburger™ and hand-dipped Milk Shakes. Stop in today for breakfast, lunch, dinner or late night at 1074 Morrison Moore Parkway in Dahlonega.
 
The traditional menu for the eatery includes burgers, referred to as steakburgers, chicken fingers, fries, milkshakes and other options. The restaurant has a $4 menu and a happy hour between 2 and 5 (a.m. and p.m.) where all milkshakes are half off the regular price.
 
Beginning in the fall of 2014, the UNG athletic department began honoring one student-athlete each Monday morning as the Nighthawk of the Week. The award is chosen each Sunday evening by an award selection committee made up of members of the UNG athletics administrative staff.
