Box Score DAHLONEGA | The UNG women's soccer team got the 2014 season off to a strong start with a 2-0 shutout of visiting Blazers of Valdosta State on Friday afternoon at the UNG Soccer Complex. The Nighthawks scored a goal in each half to secure a win in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

North Georgia's defense was stout allowing just one chance for goalie
Mallory Sayre. Offensively, the Nighthawks 18-3 advantage in shots and took all 11 of the game's corner kicks.
UNG (1-0) returns to action on Sunday, September 7 when Lees-McRae comes to Dahlonega for a 2:00 p.m. showdown.
