Box Score DAHLONEGA | The No. 15-ranked University of North Georgia women's soccer team scored early and often in Tuesday evening's Battle of Blood Mountain contest against rival Young Harris.
Cicely Taliaferro and
Rachel VanHorn each scored a pair of goals in the victory.

Sophia Matonak opened the scoring in the third minute juking a defender before firing the first goal into the back of the net. Taliaferro added two more goals in just over four minutes starting with a goal assisted by VanHorn in the 24th and followed by a header off a
Megan Morrow corner kick in the 28th minute.

The Nighthawks came out on fire in the second half, rattling off three goals in the first five minutes of the period.

Senior
Sydney Reeder scored her second goal of the season with a header off a Morrow corner kick in the 49th minute.
Rachel VanHorn added another shortly thereafter off a beautiful through-ball from
Sophia Matonak.

VanHorn didn't wait long to push through her second goal of the game, just over a minute later scoring from the top of the box on another Morrow assist.

Freshman
Brynn Finneran scored her first-career goal in the 69th minute to give the Nighthawks a 7-0 lead.

Young Harris' Dani Pena avoided the shutout with a goal shot from outside the box.

Mallory Sayre improved to 8-1-0 on goal with two saves on the night.
