Tornado Blows Past Nighthawks, 3-0

Box Score BRISTOL, Tennessee | Host King University (3-4) scored a pair of goals in the first 20 minutes of the match and never looked back in a 3-0 win over the University of North Georgia men's soccer team on Wednesday afternoon at KU's Parks Field.  The loss marks the Nighthawks' fourth consecutive shutout as the team falls to 1-6 on the season.

King's Ryan Murphy opened the scoring in the 12th minute after taking a pass from Kendale Liburd and depositing the game-winner.  Just eight minutes later Chris Hicks tallied his third goal of the season, sliding the ball past UNG keeper Diego Casillas in the lower corner of the frame.

The Tornado's final insurance goal came just four minutes into the second half when Eric Carrasco finished a break away in the lower right corner, rounding out the game's scoring.

King outshot the Nighthawks 13-6, but it was UNG that held a slight 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

North Georgia returns to action on Wednesday, October 1 when the Nighthawks open a three-match home stand with a non-conference challenge with Lenoir-Rhyne.  Match time is set for 5:00 p.m. at the UNG Soccer Complex and will be both Military Appreciation and Spirit Night.
