The winner of the North Georgia/Lenoir-Rhyne match advances to the third round (final 16) where they will face the winner of the Southeast region's other match of fifth-seeded Wingate at top-seeded Columbus State. The next two rounds will be held at the highest remaining seed out of the South region.
The two South region games are Saint Leo at Barry and Valdosta State at Rollins. All four games kick off at 1:00 p.m.
As one of the top two seeds in the Southeast, L-R earned a bye in the opening round while North Georgia advanced with a 4-1 win over sixth-seeded Belmont Abbey on Friday afternoon.
North Georgia and L-R have met only twice in school history with the Bears coming out on top in both contests. The last meeting came nine years ago in the 2005 season opener with the Bears earning a 2-1 win in Dahlonega.
The NCAA Tournament appearance is the third in the past for years for head coach
Chris Adams' team. The Nighthawks advanced to the second round in all three appearances.
