DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia (UNG) softball team placed seven student-athletes on the 2026 Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team, as announced by the league on Wednesday.
The PBC All-Academic Team, formerly known as the Team of Academic Distinction, recognizes student-athletes who excel both in competition and in the classroom. To earn recognition, student-athletes must participate in at least half of their team's events as a starter or significant contributor, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
Kayla Berry, an Acworth, Ga. native and interdisciplinary studies major, and Journey Roberts, a BSN nursing student from Lavonia, Ga., both posted a perfect 4.00 GPA.
Seniors Sydnee Reaves and Marycille Brumby also earned All-Academic honors. Reaves, a kinesiology/health and fitness major from Ashland Ala., earned recognition with a 3.61 GPA. Brumby, a kinesiology/teaching education major and Cedartown, Ga. native recorded a 3.75 GPA.
Caroline Conner of Social Circle, Ga. earned a 3.66 GPA as a kinesiology/health and fitness major.
Carleigh Knowles and Jenna Miles rounded out the honors for the Nighthawks as interdisciplinary studies majors. Knowles, a Hawkinsville, Ga. native posted a 3.68 GPA. Out of Hazlehurst, Ga., Miles was recognized with her 3.69 GPA.
