The Road to UNG
Sydnee Reaves joined the Nighthawks in 2025 after transferring from Montevallo in Montevallo, Ala. Reaves was a very impressive hitter with the Falcons, posting a batting average above .335 in each of her two seasons with the team. In her two seasons at Montevallo, Reaves started 93 of the 94 games she played in. She totaled a slash line of .341/.413/.799 which included a whopping 18 home runs, nine doubles and six triples. The talented hitter brought in 57 RBIs and only struck out 19 times in 164 at bats. She worked 19 walks in that span as well. In her outstanding sophomore year in which she ranked top 10 in the Gulf South Conference (GSC) in eight different offensive categories, Reaves earned a number of accolades for her achievements. She was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-South Region Second Team, All-GSC First Team, the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-South Region First Team and the D2CCA All-America Third Team. She said, "I only spent two days in the portal and immediately committed here [UNG] after my visit because it felt like a no-brainer. I could tell this place is special and it’s something I want to be a part of to finish out my career."
