ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The No. 11 University of North Georgia (UNG) women's golf team built a seven-stroke lead after the second round of the Peach Belt Conference Championship on Monday.
After beginning the day tied with Flagler, the Nighthawks pulled ahead with a team score of 308 to take sole possession of first place entering the final round.
Mackenzie Connell continued to pace the field, carding a 1-over 73 to maintain her position atop the individual leaderboard.
Ellie Jane Riner sits in sixth place overall after posting a 7-over 79, while Cora Mount added a 5-over 77. Camryn Wright also turned in a 7-over 79, and Claire Bradford recorded an 87.
Abby Franks is set to enter the lineup for North Georgia in Tuesday's final round, replacing Bradford.
The third and final round of the championship is scheduled to tee off Tuesday morning.
