MT. PLEASANT, S.C. - Consistency across three rounds lifted Camryn Wright to the top of the leaderboard and powered the No. 9 University of North Georgia (UNG) women's golf team to a runner-up finish at the Dunes West Women's Intercollegiate hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne, which concluded Tuesday.
Playing as an individual, Wright captured medalist honors with a three-day total of 219 (+3), carding identical rounds of 73 in all three rounds to secure a one-stroke victory.
North Georgia finished second in the team standings, posting rounds of 309 (+21) and 305 (+17) across the final two rounds after completing the suspended second round Tuesday morning before beginning the tournament's finale.
Cora Mount paced the Nighthawks during the resumed second round with a 73 (+1), while Claire Bradford added a 78 (+6). Ellie Jane Riner and Mackenzie Connell each recorded rounds of 79 (+7), and Abby Franks turned in an 82 (+10).
In the final round, North Georgia tightened its scoring with three players finishing within a stroke of one another. Riner, Connell and Mount each shot 76 (+4), while Bradford followed with a 77 (+5). Franks closed with a 78 (+6) to round out the team scoring.
Wright led the field with her third consecutive 73 (+1), while Leigh Allen posted a 78 (+6) in the final round after shooting an 84 (+12) earlier in the day to complete round two.
No. 25 Lincoln Memorial claimed the team title with a 54-hole total of +51. The Railsplitters' final round nine-over was the low round of the event, eight clear of UNG's final round +17.Â
No. 18 Erskine finish third (+64) while Tusculum and No. 33 Lenoir-Rhyne shared foruth place at +75 to round out the top five teams.Â
North Georgia returns to competition March 9-10 at the Jerry Surratt Memorial, hosted by Wingate.
