MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Grace McGill recorded her third brace of the 2026 season as the No. 20 University of North Georgia (UNG) women's soccer team secured a 4-1 road victory against Georgia College.
The Nighthawks (11-3, 6-2 PBC) have now won at least 11 games in each of the last four seasons under head coach Kayley Ralton. North Georgia has also scored four or more goals in half of its matches this year, including four goals in three-straight games for the first time 2018.
It did not take McGill long to get halfway to her two goals on Wednesday evening. Less than two minutes into the game, Mady Neff chipped the ball into the box to McGill, who slotted the ball past the diving Bobcats' goalkeeper to give UNG an early 1-0 advantage.
At the 31:17 mark in the first half, North Georgia doubled its lead. Neff once again set a teammate up to score, this time being Chloe Diaz. Neff and the Nighthawks quickly flipped the field to find an open Diaz, who scored her third goal of the season to push the lead to 2-0.
The Nighthawks' defense faced nine shots from the Bobcats in the first half to chip away at the lead, but a trio of saves from Kayleigh Marreel kept the two-goal lead intact for UNG heading into halftime.
North Georgia stayed hot coming out of the break, scoring two more goals to stay on the front foot.
Less than halfway through the second half, Emma Moreau passed the ball off to McGill at midfield. McGill made her way past the defense using a strong run and delivered a powerful strike into the back of the net for her second goal of the evening.
UNG put the exclamation point on the victory at the 81:07 mark. Kathryn Christian used a penalty kick to score the first goal of her collegiate career and extend the lead to four.
The Bobcats quickly responded with a goal to prevent the shutout, but the Nighthawks were able to ride out their three-goal advantage until the final whistle.
McGill's brace puts her in a tie for first on the team with nine goals this season, while Neff's two-assist game marks the first of her collegiate career.
Georgia College (6-4-3, 4-2-0 PBC) were led by Alayna Cobb's second-half goal.
The Nighthawks bring a five-game win streak into a big road test against the defending NCAA Division II Women's Soccer National Champion Florida Tech Panthers. Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17 at 1 p.m. in Melbourne, Fla.
