ATLANTA, Ga. – The University of North Georgia (UNG) women's track & field team had a number of personal best marks recorded in the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Ga. this weekend.

Eight different athletes made a new personal best at some point during the meet.

Senior Ella Stoudenmire was the highest-placing Nighthawk on the weekend as she finished in 11th place out of 46 runners in the women's 800-meter final. Stoudenmire raced to a 2:12.99 time for the top finish for UNG.

Senior Sophia Alexander celebrated a personal best with an 11th-place finish and a 1:09.11 time in the 400m hurdles on Saturday. The transfer from Thomas beat her previous personal best by more than a second.

After racing in her first two career 800m races in the Susan Rouse and South Alabama Invitationals earlier this year, freshman Aubrey Dishman posted a new personal best at the Yellow Jacket Invitational with a 2:23.26 pace in the event over the weekend.

In the 3000m steeplechase event, four different UNG athletes recorded a new personal best. Freshmen Maggie Welp and Teagan Lamp posted career-high marks as they finished in fourth and fifth place respectively. Welp ran a 12:26.06 while Lamp crossed the finish line at 12:43.56.

Senior athlete Zoe Ordway also posted a new personal-best time with a 12:56.09 final mark in the race as did sophomore Reese Vandergriff at 13:38.92.

Sophomore Adi Myers made waves with two new personal records on Saturday. The Braselton, Ga. native sped to a 2:26.30 time in the 800m followed by a 4:57.77 pace in the 1500m. She shaved off more than two seconds from her previous best times for both events with the performance.
