How Alexander got to UNG
Sophia Alexander comes to UNG as a senior transfer from Thomas University in Thomasville, Ga. It was at Thomas that Alexander ran Track & Field and Cross Country. Alexander medaled in the 2024 Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships as she broke a pair of Thomas records in her performance. She set a new record pace in the women's 400 meter race with a time of 1:05.17. On the next day of the event, Alexander blitzed past the competition in the 600 meter with a record setting time of 1:45.81 to finish in third place overall in the SSAC Championship event. Alexander transferred to UNG to pursue an academic career in the Criminal Justice program and decided to join the Nighthawk track team to continue her collegiate running career as well.
