DAHLONEGA - The No. 14 University of North Georgia (UNG) women's golf team posted one of its most balanced performances of the fall season Monday, closing day one of the 12
th Annual LeeAnn Noble Memorial in seventh place after rounds of 296 (+8) and 290 (+2) at Achasta Golf Club.
 
The Nighthawks' 586 (+10) team total places them in the top half of a strong 16-team field that features seven of the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) top 25 teams nationally including three top-10 teams. Twelve teams in the 16-team field features are receiving votes in the latest poll.
 
Fifth-ranked Anderson leads the tournament through 36 holes at 562 (-14), followed by No. 2 Wingate and No. 10 Lee tied for second at 570 (-6).
 
Camryn Wright and 
Ellie Jane Riner led the way for North Georgia, both producing red numbers over the day's 36 holes. Wright opened with a two-under-par 70 in the morning before carding a 73 (+1) in the second round to finish the day at one-under 143, inside the top 15 on the individual leaderboard.
 
Riner was equally impressive as she followed a 73 (+1) in the opening round with a two-under 70 in the afternoon to match Wright at 143 (-1). Sophomore 
Abby Franks provided another top-to-bottom contribution, firing rounds of 74 and 71 for a one-over 145, giving UNG three players in the top 25 after two rounds.
 
Rounding out the lineup, 
Cora Mount shot rounds of 79-78 (157) while 
Claire Bradford improved eight shots from the morning to post 83-76 (159).
 
Playing as individuals, 
Mackenzie Connell turned in one of the day's standout performances for UNG, recording 71-73 (E) to sit among the tournament's top 20 individuals. 
Leigh Allen posted 77-74 (151) while 
Emma Veil added (76-78--154) and 
Chanley Box (85-82—167) out the North Georgia contingent.
Individually, Anderson's Aly Francis headlines the field at nine-under (65-70—135) fueled by an opening round seven-under which was a single stroke off the tournament record.
 
The tournament's final round tees off Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. at Achasta Golf Club. The awards ceremony and annual LeeAnn Noble Memorial Scholarship presentation will take place immediately following the conclusion of the final round.
