ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Two shutout victories gave the No. 1 University of North Georgia softball team a series victory over Flagler (12-19, 7-7 PBC), rolling to 12-0 and 13-0 wins to open up their Peach Belt Conference road series. Everything was clicking for the Nighthawks on the day as North Georgia began to heat up late in the first game, scoring eight runs in the seventh before continuing the momentum in the second game.

Kristen Davis (W, 9-1) worked through six innings to secure her ninth victory of the season, striking out five batters and allowing four hits and no runs to help kick off the weekend in the circle.
Sophie Mooney closed out the final inning to complete the shutout.
Mooney's biggest contribution was at the plate, scoring three runs on two hits in her four at-bats while tying with
Hannah Forehand for the team lead in RBIs with two a piece.
Jolie Lester and
Gracie Mixson also earned two hits in the game, anchoring the top and bottom of the order, with Mixson's home run in the seventh inning getting the party started in the eight-run inning.
North Georgia, 13 Flagler, 0
The Nighthawks did not slow down in the second game, scoring 12 runs in the first three innings of the second, scoring six in the second, and five in the third to match the first's games total score after three innings. North Georgia tacked one more on in the top of the fifth to take the series and their 32nd straight victory.
Tybee Denton (W, 10-0) reached the double-digit win mark, pitching four shutout innings and allowing just three hits while striking out five batters. Denton becomes the first North Georgia pitcher to reach the double-digit win mark this season.
Once again, Mooney and Forehand led the charge offensively as the two Nighthawks took advantage of their teammates' ability to reach base, with the two combining for nine RBIs. Forehand opened up the scoring by driving in the lone run in the first inning and left no doubt it the third inning, launching a grand slam over the left field wall to give the Nighthawks a 12-0 lead and cap off the scoring spree in the third inning.
Mooney's big swing of the night capped off the scoring in the second inning, adding a three-run homerun to her stat line to make it a 7-0 game.
Jolie Lester scored three times on two hits in the game, while
Sydney Blair got two hits in two chances, scoring once. Mixson added another homerun to her day in the second inning driving in two runs.

The Nighthawks will play the third and final game of the three-game series against Flagler which is set to begin tomorrow (Mar. 26) at noon.
