ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A four-under-par third round helped the No. 9 University of North Georgia men's golf team move up two spots on the final day of action at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate. The Nighthawks finished with a three-round score of 868 (+4).
Evan Thompson (Even) carded a three-round score of 216 to finish first for UNG and in a tie for 11th in the tournament.
Hughes Threlkeld (+1) finished one stroke behind Thompson, posting an even par finish in the third round to finish in a tie for 17th.
Stephen Kinsel (+2) marched up the leaderboard on the final day, finishing with a three-under-par in the third round to move into a tie for 22nd.
Ethan Day (+6) and
Noah Zediker (+7) finished in fourth and fifth for UNG, with Day ending as the fourth Nighthawk to finish at even par or better in the third round with his second straight even-par scorecard. Day ended the tournament tied for 38th, while Zediker finished in a tie for 40th.
Ryan Hogan played in the event as an individual, finishing in a tie for 57th.

The Nighthawks look to defend their crown at the GSW Hurricane Invitational in Albany, Ga. on Feb. 27-28. North Georgia won the event last season, sliding by tournament host Georgia Southwestern for the one-stroke victory.
