Alea White Named Softball Assistant Coach

DAHLONEGA – University of North Georgia softball head coach Mike Davenport has announced that University of Central Florida's graduate assistant coach Alea White has been named the program's full-time assistant coach.

Following her decorated career as a player, White joined UCF head coach Cindy Ball-Malone's staff as a graduate assistant and helped lead the Knights to a 49-win season and their first hosting nod as the No. 16 national seed. The Black & Gold made more history by sweeping their way through the Orlando Regional, punching their first ticket to the NCAA's Super Regionals.

"We are very excited to welcome Alea White as our assistant softball coach at UNG," stated Davenport. "She has completed a tremendous playing career at Central Florida and a successful beginning to her coaching career at UCF under the leadership of Cindy Ball-Malone. We look forward to Alea working with our pitching staff as we move into our fall season."

As a pitcher, White holds UCF's all-time career wins mark with 99 and was a three-time NFCA First Team All-Region nod (2018, 2019, and 2021), becoming the first player in UCF program history to accomplish the feat. The three-year captain also collected American Athletic Conference First Team All-Conference honors following her senior year.

"Alea was one of the fiercest competitors as an athlete and she showed her ability to transition that competitive spirit into a coaching role," said Ball-Malone. "She helped lead one of the most successful pitching staffs from UCF and her knowledge of the game, positive attitude and hard work will help lead UNG to new heights."

White will assist Davenport with all aspects of the program.

"I am so excited to be a part of this amazing program and learn from Coach Davenport," said White. "I can't wait to have some fun and help these girls keep winning."
