Ananthasane Finishes Tied for 46th at NCAA South Regional

DAVIE, Fla. - University of North Georgia women's golfer Maddie Ananthasane finished up play at the NCAA South Regional with a final round of 6-over 77 Wednesday to finish in a tie for 46th place.

Starting on the 10th and recording three straight pars, Ananthasane took back-to-back bogeys on Nos. 13 and 14 before answering with her first birdie of the day on the par-5 15th. Ananthasane would turn at 2-over and, after a bogey on the first, found another birdie on the third. The sophomore, in her second regional, finished the round going 4-over on her final six holes to round out the tournament.

Lynn took the team title after defeating Limestone in an aggregate playoff on No. 18. Lee, Anderson and Barry will also advance to the 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Golf National Championship next week in Gainesville. Barry beat Saint Leo in an aggregate playoff to claim the final team spot. As individuals, Lander's Hannah Stephenson advanced as did Saint Leo's Francesca Santoni, who defeated Columbus State's Victoria Libaak in a one hole playoff to claim the final spot.

Ananthasane was named PBC Player of the Year and won individual medalist honors before being named to her second regional appearance in as many years on the UNG women's golf team.
