FARMINGTON, Pa. –
Cora Mount earned her first collegiate victory Tuesday, capturing medalist honors at the Intercollegiate at Nemacolin as the No. 14 University of North Georgia women's golf team secured a third-place finish to close its fall season.
Mount carded a final-round 74 to finish at nine-over for the tournament, holding off a competitive field to become the top individual in the 54-hole event. Her steady play across all three rounds paced the Nighthawks, who tied with top-ranked and tournament host Findlay at 64-over 928.
Behind Mount,
Abby Franks turned in another strong showing, tying for 14th at 19-over after posting a 77 in the final round.
Camryn Wright (+22) tied for 24th, followed by
Ellie Jane Riner (+27) and
Mackenzie Connell (+31) to complete North Georgia's lineup.
The Nighthawks posted team rounds of 310-307-311 (+64) to close the fall campaign with their second top-five finish of the semester.
No. 7 Grand Valley State claimed the team title at +51, eight shots ahead of Indianapolis at +59.
North Georgia now turns its attention to the spring schedule, looking to build on the momentum from a standout fall.
