FARMINGTON, Pa. – The No. 14 University of North Georgia (UNG) women's golf sits in second place at the Intercollegiate at Nemacolin, closing the tournament's opening day with a final score of 35-over-par, just nine strokes behind seventh-ranked Grand Valley State.
 
The Nighthawks opened play with a 310 before the tournament's second round was suspended due to darkness with four holes remaining. The nine-team field will wrap up the second round before starting the third and final round tomorrow.
 
The Nighthawks were led by 
Cora Mount, who sits in a tie for first place individually after shooting even in the opening round and sitting at at one-over through 14 holes before play was suspended. Mount shares the individual lead with GVSU's June Hsiao, both posting a total of one-over-par.
 
Abby Franks is tied for 15th at 12-over-par, while 
Camryn Wright, 
Ellie Jane Riner and 
Mackenzie Connell are all both tied for 17th place at 13-over-par.
UNG's sits six shots ahead of third-place Ulndy (+41). No. 23 Missouri-St. Louis (+47) and top-ranked and tournament host Findlay (+49) round out the top five.
