COLUMBUS, Ga. - The No. 5 University of North Georgia men's tennis team fell Sunday in the regular season finale to No. 1 Columbus State, 7-0.
North Georgia and Columbus State split the first two doubles matches with
Daniel Ostap and
Cole Brainard winning on the second line by a 6-1 score. CSU would ultimately win the doubles point with a 7-5 win at No. 1.
The Cougars took all six singles matches, five of which were in straight sets. Ostap was the lone Nighthawk to win a set in singles action, forcing a third set that would be won by Columbus State, 10-8.
UNG will now focus ahead to the Peach Belt Championship to start next week. The bracket and match times will be announced later in the week once matches have concluded.
