Ananthasane Wins PBC Individual Medalist for Second Year in a Row

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. - For the first time in the history of the Peach Belt Conference Women's Golf Championship, a player has won the tournament in back-to-back years as University of North Georgia women's golfer Maddie Ananthasane claimed individual medalist honors, leading UNG to a fourth place finish in the event Sunday at Sea Palms.

Ananthasane is just the second player in the league's history to win the event twice, joining Montevallo's Arin Eddy who won the event in 2015 and 2017. Ananthasane keeps individual medalist honors in Dahlonega for a third year out of the last four as Megan Sabol was the last person to win the event prior to Ananthasane in 2021.

Ananthasane finished with a final round of even-par 71 to claim a 5-over for the tournament, winning by two shots. Ellie Rippee earned a top 10 finish, tying for eighth place at 18-over for the tournament.

The Nighthawks finished in fourth place behind Columbus State who won the tournament for the first time in program history. Lander and Flagler finished tied for second, 20 shots back of the Cougars.
