DAHLONEGA - The No. 5 University of North Georgia men's tennis team took down Young Harris to win their 10th straight match Friday in a 7-0 win.
Young Harris took the first doubles match on the third line, but North Georgia quickly answered, taking the second line with
Daniel Ostap and
Cole Brainard winning, 6-3, before
Ryan Gaskin and
Joaquin Benoit clinched the point with a 6-4 win on the top line.
North Georgia took all six singles matches in straight sets with the matches finishing in order of seed. Benoit won by a score of 6-2, 6-3, Gaskin took the second line with a 6-2, 6-0 score and
Zach Waldow finished off the win with a 6-4, 6-4 win on the third line. Ostap took the fourth line, 6-3, 6-3 while Brainard took the No. 5 spot, 6-2, 6-1.
Giulio Sassi finished the sweep with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 6.
UNG will turn around tomorrow to take on AUM at 1 p.m. at home.
