DAHLONEGA - The No. 13 University of North Georgia women's tennis team dispatched of Young Harris Friday afternoon, 7-0.
The Nighthawks surrendered just five points across the three doubles matches with
Johanna Lippert and
Svetlana Teterina getting things going with a 6-1 win on the second line.
Vaishali Jorge and Claudelle Labonte Frey took a 6-2 win at No. 1 to clinch the point while
Anna Markvartova and
Cibeles Zuddy finishing the doubles sweep with a 6-2 win.
Labonte Frey kept the momentum going for UNG with a quick 6-1, 6-0 win on the fourth singles line to stretch the lead to 2-0. After Jorge won on the top line, 6-1, 6-2, Markvartova clinched the match with a 6-1, 7-5 win at No. 2. Lippert (6-2, 7-6 (5)), Zuddy (6-1, 6-0) and Rafaella Villanueva (6-1, 6-0) also won their singles matches to complete the sweep.
UNG will have a quick turnaround as they battle AUM tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek.
