GREENWOOD, S.C. - The No. 9 University of North Georgia men's golf team finished in eighth place at the Bearcat Classic Tuesday after a final round of 3-over 291.
The Nighthawks were led by
Evan Thompson and
Grant Crowell who tied for 19th at 2-over for the week. Thompson shot a final round 72 to climb up into the top 20.
Stephen Kinsel shot a final round of even-par 72 to earn a top 25 finish, one shot back of Thompson and Crowell.
North Georgia finished two shots back of a tie for sixth between West Georgia and Belmont Abbey. Barton, at 10-under, won the event by 12 shots over host Lander and Carson-Newman, who finished in a tie for second. Erskine and Clayton State wrapped up the top five.
The Nighthawks will have a week away from tournament action to prepare for the Bobcat Invitational March 21-22.
