GREENWOOD, S.C. - The University of North Georgia women's golf team finished in ninth place at the Bearcat Classic Tuesday with
Maddie Ananthasane earning a top five finish.
Ananthasane shot a final round 73 to finish in a tie for fifth at 4-over 148. Earning her fifth top 10 and fourth top five, Ananthasane finished five shots back of the only player to finish under par for the event, Lenoir-Rhyne's Megan Robb.
North Georgia finished at 45-over for the event, just one shot behind Lander and six shots outside of the top five. Lee won the event at 25-over, besting Columbus State by seven. Lincoln Memorial was third, followed by West Georgia in fourth. Wingate and Lenoir-Rhyne were tied for fifth.
Other top 50 finishes included
Kennedy Noe and
Jadin Ware finishing in a tie for 32nd and
Ellie Rippee ending in a tie for 41st.
North Georgia will conclude the regular season next week at the Lynn Spring Invitational as the final tune up for the Peach Belt Championships.
