MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The No. 7 University of North Georgia men's tennis team dispatched of Georgia College Tuesday, 7-0.
After the Bobcats finished the first doubles match on top at No. 3, North Georgia stormed back with a 6-2 win from
Joaquin Benoit and
Ryan Gaskin on the top line and a 6-1 doubles point clincher from
Cole Brainard and
Daniel Ostap at No. 2.
Ostap pushed the score to 2-0 with an efficient 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles before Gaskin claimed a 6-3, 6-0 win on the second line.
Giulio Sassi won the match for UNG with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 6. Benoit won 6-4, 6-4, and Brainard won 6-4, 5-4 (retired), before Waldow finished off the sweep with a 6-3, 2-6, 10-7 win on the third line.
North Georgia will return home for a pair of weekend matches starting Friday against Young Harris.
