LOUDON, Tenn. - The No. 4 University of North Georgia men's golf team was tied for the lead after 18 holes Monday at the Tennessee River Rumble with
Stephen Kinsel on top of the individual leaderboard after a record setting 8-under 64. Play in the second round was suspended due to darkness.
Kinsel had nine birdies in the opening round to hold a two shot lead after the opening 18 holes. He still sits in the lead in the tournament headed into tomorrow's final.
Evan Thompson currently sits in a tie for 10th at the conclusion of play, shooting 3-under in the second round so far.
North Georgia shot a 3-under 285 in the opening round, ending up just outside the top five 18-hole rounds in program history. Tied with Belmont Abbey after the first round, UNG is four shots back of the Crusaders at play suspension. Lincoln Memorial, King and Queens round out the top five.
The second round will resume tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. with play going straight into the third and final round.
