DAHLONEGA - The No. 13 University of North Georgia men's tennis team shut out Southern Indiana Friday afternoon in a 7-0 rout at home.
The Nighthawks breezed through doubles play, giving up a combined four games across the three matches.
Daniel Ostap and
Cole Brainard earned a 6-0 win on the second line that secured the doubles point after a 6-1 on the third line from
Giulio Sassi and
Sebastian Murillo.
UNG continued its dominant play in singles, starting with a 6-0, 6-0 win on the top line from
Joaquin Benoit. Moments later,
Ryan Gaskin got a win at No. 2 with a 6-1, 6-2 score. The match was clinched when Brainard took down his opponent at No. 5, 6-0, 6-4.
North Georgia will be back in action Sunday at Augusta at 1 p.m.
