DAHLONEGA - The No. 10 University of North Georgia men's tennis team shut out Anderson Wednesday in the home opener, 7-0.
The Nighthawks clinched the doubles point with wins on the top two lines.
Joaquin Benoit and
Zach Waldow took a 6-1 win on No. 1 while
Ryan Gaskin and
Cole Brainard earned a 6-2 win on the second line.
North Georgia didn't stop there as they stormed through singles, winning all six matches, including two three-set wins by Benoit on the top line and Waldow at No. 4. Gaskin, Brainard,
Sebastian Murillo and
Giulio Sassi each won in straight sets on their lines.
UNG will next be in action when they travel to Valdosta State for a 2 p.m. match Friday.
