VALDOSTA, Ga. - The 10th-ranked University of North Georgia men's tennis team fell Friday to No. 5 Valdosta State, 6-1.
North Georgia seized early control of doubles with
Joaquin Benoit and
Zach Waldow sweeping the top line, 6-0. The Blazers took the other two lines, however, in tiebreaks to claim the doubles point.
From there, Valdosta State earned the win by claiming the first four singles matches completed. Waldow got North Georgia on the board with a three set win on the fifth singles line, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.
North Georgia will be back on the courts at the ITA Indoor National Team Championships next weekend.
