AUGUSTA, Ga. - University of North Georgia women's golfer
Maddie Ananthasane was named the Peach Belt Conference Golfer of the Week, the league announced Thursday morning.
Ananthasane finished in a tie for ninth at the loaded Lady Moc Golf Classic on Tuesday. The sophomore from Dacula, Georgia, began her spring season with rounds of 74-73-72 for a three-over 219 at the Grasslands Golf & Country Club in Lakeland, Florida. The result was her third top-10 in five events so far this season and she was the only PBC golfer to finish inside the top 20 in a field that featured eight top-25 teams among the 15 competitors.
Ananthasane continues to lead the PBC with a 73.47 stroke average and is ranked No. 22 in the nation in the latest Golfstat rankings.
The Nighthawks will be back in action Monday as they begin play in the Low Tide Intercollegiate.
