LAKELAND, Fla. - The University of North Georgia women's golf team finished in 13th place as a team after a final round 316 at the Lady Moc Classic Tuesday.
Maddie Ananthasane was the top Nighthawk, finishing in a tie for ninth.
Ananthasane shot a final round 72 to remain at 3-over for the tournament, six shots off the pace of Saint Leo's Francesca Santoni, who finished as the only player under par at 3-under for the 54 hole event.
North Georgia nearly caught up to Embry-Riddle, finishing three shots back of 12th place and almost closing a nine-shot gap versus the Eagles. Top-ranked Lynn won the event by eight shots over No. 6 Anderson at 5-over. No. 9 Nova Southeastern and No. 3 Limestone finished third and fourth, respectively, while No. 4 Barry and Florida Southern tied for fifth.
The Nighthawks will be back on the course next week as they compete in the Low Tide Intercollegiate, hosted by Limestone.
