Noe Leads Nighthawks to Finish 8th at LeeAnn Noble Memorial

DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia women's golf team posted a nine-over par 297 final round to finish the 9th Annual LeeAnn Noble Memorial in eighth out of 17 teams at Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega. Kennedy Noe (77-74-69--220, t12th) led UNG the whole way, putting a stamp on her tournament with a three-under-par final round. 

As a team, the Nighthawks shot a 308 (+20) in the opening round before improving that score by eight strokes in the second round and rose three spots on the leaderboard. UNG continued that momentum and improved their standing by one place in the third round.

Maddie Ananthasane (82-72-74--228, t36th) recovered after a tough first round and moved up nine spots in the final round. Amari Smith (76-78-76--230, t45th) finished third on the team, two strokes back of Ananthasane. Ellie Rippee (73-84-78--235, t63rd) finished five strokes behind Smith and rounded out the top four Nighthawks.

No. 6 Anderson won the event at three-over-par (867), and Hailey McLaughlin from Wingate won the individual title by posting a three-under-par (213) scorecard. 

The tournament field featured 17 teams, including eight ranked in the Mizuno WGCA Division II top-25. The 92-golfer field includes No. 6 Anderson, No. 24 Carson-Newman, No. 17 Columbus State, Converse University, No. 22 Florida Southern, No. 4 Findlay, No. 20 Lander, No. 9 Lee, Lenoir-Rhyne, No. 11 Limestone (defending champion), Lincoln Memorial, North Georgia, Southern Wesleyan (individuals), UNC Pembroke, Wingate, West Florida, West Georgia and Young Harris (individuals).
