DAHLONEGA - Four University of North Georgia teams kick off their fall seasons this week in addition to the Peach Belt openers for both the men's and women's soccer teams. This season's weekly preview is presented by Northeast Georgia Health System, the official healthcare partner of UNG Nighthawk Athletics.

WOMEN'S GOLF
The No. 18 women's golf team hits the road this week to open the fall season at the UIndy Invitational in Carmel, Indiana. The field includes five top 25 teams, including No. 3 Indianapolis and No. 6 Findlay.
North Georgia will return
Maddie Ananthasane and
Danielle Humphrey from the 2020-21 squad. Ananthasane qualified for the NCAA National Championship in her freshman campaign.
MEN'S GOLF
The No. 19 men's golf team will compete in the Kiawah Island Invitational, hosted by USC Aiken, this week. The field has seven teams in the preseason top 25 GCAA ranking, including the host Pacers at No. 10.
North Georgia made the NCAA regional as a team for the first time in program history.
Grant Crowell leads the Nighthawks as they try to earn a repeat appearance in the postseason this year.
WOMEN'S SOCCER (0-1-1, 0-0-0 PBC)
The women's soccer team played 135 minutes of soccer a week ago, dropping the only match that was played to completion. After jumping out to a 2-0 lead over West Georgia in the home opener, inclement weather forced the match to result in a no contest. UNG went to Valdosta State Sunday and fell, 2-1.
This week, North Georgia will continue a three-match road swing, starting outside of league play at North Greenville Wednesday evening. The Crusaders are 1-1-2 with their lone loss coming to Furman. NGU drew with Lander and No. 11 Lenoir-Rhyne before beating Chowan, 1-0, Saturday afternoon.
The week will conclude at Young Harris to open Peach Belt play Saturday at 7 p.m. as part of the Battle of Blood Mountain. The Mountain Lions head into the week at 2-1 with a Tuesday match against Emmanuel standing between YHC and the league opener.
MEN'S SOCCER (3-0-0, 0-0-0 PBC)
North Georgia continued its hot start to the 2021 season last week, beating Lee on the road, 4-2, before holding on for a 3-2 win at home Friday against Alabama Huntsville.
Donovan Odier scored five goals on the week, becoming the all-time leading goal scorer in program history in the process.
The week starts Wednesday as Peach Belt action begins as well. North Georgia will play host to Lander at 5 p.m. for Senior Night. The Bearcats are 2-2 and are coming off a 5-2 loss to Anderson Saturday evening.
North Georgia will then hit the road Saturday to take on Clayton State in a conference match. The Lakers currently sit at 1-3-1 with a match against USC Aiken scheduled for Wednesday evening in Morrow.
MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TENNIS
Fresh off hosting the 2021 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional, the men's and women's tennis teams will get the fall season underway at the CSU Cougar Invitational. The Nighthawks both went deep in the regional tournament with the men falling in the regional final while the women made it into the semifinal round.
