DAHLONEGA - Tara Stevens has been named an athletic training graduate assistant at the University of North Georgia. Stevens comes to Dahlonega after a swimming career at Ashland University.
Stevens swam for the Eagles for three seasons. In that time, she set the school record in the 1000 free, the third best time in the 500 free, the fourth best time in the 1650 free, the sixth best time in the 200 free and the ninth best time in the 400 IM. She was named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team twice in her career as well.
Prior to swimming at Ashland, Stevens spent a year at Limestone where she won the 500 and 1000 free in the Conference Carolinas Championships. She also earned a second team All-Conference honor in the 200 free and a third team honor in the 400 medley relay. She was a two-time Swimmer of the Week in her freshman campaign.
Stevens is originally from Bainbridge, Georgia.
