Mosteller Sacrifice Squeeze Gives Softball Walk Off Win Over Saint Anselm

Box Score DENVER - It took until the bottom of the seventh, but the University of North Georgia softball team pushed across the game's only run to advance on in the 2021 NCAA Division II Softball Championship with a 1-0 win over No. 18 Saint Anselm Friday afternoon.

After Kylee Smith sat down nine while surrendering just two hits and a walk, North Georgia used a leadoff walk to Madi Perry to get it going in the final frame. A Gracie Mixson sacrifice bunt and a Hannah Forehand single set up Cheyanne Mosteller to lay down a squeeze bunt to give UNG the walk off win.

NOTES
- Smith improves to 18-5 on the year with the win.

- Mallory Parker was 2-for-3 with a triple, while Mixson and Forehand had the only other two hits for UNG.

NEXT UP
North Georgia will turn around later today to take on No. 24 Biola at 6 p.m. EDT. If North Georgia wins, they will force the "If Necessary" game Sunday.
