PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. - Donovan Odier wasted little time in the second half getting on the scoreboard, but the University of North Georgia men's soccer team fell to Clayton State, 2-1, Monday night.
The Lakers were the first to strike in the 13th minute as Brad Kay took a pass from Geo Rios and slotted it home to put Clayton State up, 1-0. That would be the score when the teams went to the half, but Odier responded quickly in the second half, scoring a goal off passes from
Che Richards and
Santiago Gimenez in the 47th minute to tie the game.
Clayton State answered just four minutes later when Rios passed off to Alexis Iturria to put the Lakers in front for good.
NOTES
- Odier's goal was his only shot in the game.
Che Richards took two shots in his Nighthawk debut, both of which were saved by the Laker keeper.
