DAHLONEGA - Throughout the coming weeks, the University of North Georgia Department of Athletics will be looking back into the archives to reflect on highlights in the storied history of UNG Athletics. This week, we look back to the week of April 19 through 25.

APRIL 19
• In 2008, the baseball team plated 25 runs in a single game, breaking the record at the time. The 25 runs is now second all-time. UNG also had 25 hits in the game versus Georgia Southwestern, which still stands as the all-time record in program history.
• In 2019,
Kylee Smith tossed the fifth perfect game in softball program history.
• Also in 2019,
Bree Hammond claimed runner-up in the steeplechase at the Peach Belt Championships.
APRIL 20
• In 2015, baseball's
Connor Hoover won his third PBC Freshman of the Week honor, which tied the record for Freshman of the Week honors at the time. That record has since been broken.
• In 2017, men's tennis's
Niklas Zielen won the PBC Men's Tennis Player of the Year honor.
• In 2019, women's tennis advanced to the program's first ever PBC Championship match with a Saturday sweep of the quarter and semifinal matches.
• Also in 2019,
Abigail Kirkland won her second straight PBC 400 meter hurdles championship.
Tom Williams was also named the PBC Coach of the Year in women's track & field.

APRIL 21
• In 2016, softball claimed three of the major awards at the PBC softball banquet with Courtney Poole bringing home Pitcher of the Year honors,
Stephanie Hartness garnering Player of the Year and
Mike Davenport sporting the Coach of the Year honor.
• Also in 2016,
Kent Norsworthy claimed the men's tennis PBC Coach of the Year award.
• In 2018,
Brittany Truitt and
Abigail Kirkland won their respective events at the PBC Championships with Kirkland claiming Freshman of the Year along the way.

APRIL 22
• In 2016, softball's Courtney Poole tosses a no-hitter in the PBC quarterfinals. It was the third no-hitter in PBC Tournament history.
• In 2017, the baseball team clinched the PBC regular season championship as they finished off a sweep of Flagler.
• Also in 2017, the softball team won their fourth straight PBC Tournament crown, tying the record at the time held by Kennesaw State. UNG has since broken the record and is now the six-time defending champs.
• In 2018, baseball's
Conner Corbitt hit a walk-off double to beat Winston-Salem State.

APRIL 23
• In 2005, the baseball team defeated Lee to win the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament Championship.
• Also in 2005, the softball team downed Faulkner to win the SSAC Tournament Championship.
APRIL 24
• In 2018, the women's tennis team claimed the No. 6 seed in the NCAA Southeast Regional, earning their second bid into the NCAA tournament in program history.
• In 2019, the softball team earned their sixth consecutive PBC regular season crown, extending the record of five straight held by UNG currently.
APRIL 25
• In 2017, the men's tennis team earned a fourth straight bid into the NCAA tournament, while the women's tennis team heard their name announced on the selection show for the first time in program history.
