DAHLONEGA - The No. 20 University of North Georgia rifle team claimed the top three spots in the event as they downed The Citadel in Southern Conference action Saturday inside the COL Raymond C. Hamilton Rifle Range.
Kimberlee Nettles was the top shooter on the day in both disciplines, starting with smallbore where she shot a 578. In air rifle, the junior shot 583, scoring no less than 96 in any of the six strings.
Tobin Sanctuary finished second on the aggregate leaderboard and in both disciplines, including a perfect 200 in the prone position during smallbore shooting. He followed that up with a 581 in the air rifle discipline.
Jayne Fraley was the third Nighthawk on the leaderboard, shooting an 1140 aggregate score.
As a team, UNG shot a 4579, beating The Citadel's co-ed team by over 50 points. The Bulldogs' women's team shot a 4189.
North Georgia will compete for the Georgia State Championship next weekend at Georgia Southern.
