CARROLLTON, Ga. - After forcing the West Georgia keeper to make multiple saves in the first 58 minutes, the University of North Georgia women's soccer team broke through for two second half goals to defeat the Wolves, 2-0, Saturday afternoon.
Katey Derkay scored the first goal on a pass from
Rosie Embley in the 59th minute of play. Seven minutes later,
Jazmin Adlam and Derkay set up
Dani Shartouny for her first goal of 2019, doubling the Nighthawk lead and bringing the game to its final score.
NOTES
- UNG made Jackie Donaldson work in the first half as the UWG goalie made eight saves in the first 45 minutes. She ended up with nine saves on the day. North Georgia's
Morgan Ramby earned her first clean sheet as a Nighthawk with three saves in between the posts.
- North Georgia had 22 shots in the match, compared to just nine for the Wolves.
