DAHLONEGA - Taylor Malasek and
Rosie Embley each found the back of the net as the University of North Georgia women's soccer team posted a 2-0 win over Valdosta State Friday night at the UNG Soccer Complex.
After a 45 minute weather delay before the game started, it didn't take Malasek long to put UNG on the board, slotting one home in the 12th minute to push the Nighthawks out in front. Embley doubled the UNG lead in the 82nd minute, finding the side of the net past the Blazer keeper to put the game out of reach.
NOTES
- North Georgia possessed the ball for 53 percent of the game. Of that possession, over three-fourths of UNG's possession was in the attacking half of the field.
- The Nighthawks fired 22 shots on VSU, compared to just six shots allowed by the North Georgia defense.
- UNG has still never allowed a goal against Valdosta State in the three meetings all-time. The Nighthawks shut out VSU in 2014 and 2015 as well.
