DAHLONEGA - Taylor Malasek had her second brace of the season and added an assist as the No. 20 University of North Georgia women's soccer team improved to 2-0 in Peach Belt Conference play with a 3-0 win over Francis Marion Saturday afternoon.
The Patriots' defense kept UNG at bay for the first 20 minutes of the match, but Malasek broke through in the 25th minute with a bomb from 20 yards out to put the Nighthawks up, 1-0.
Coming out of halftime, North Georgia put pressure on FMU quickly as Malasek found
Rosie Embley for a one-touch shot from the penalty spot to double the lead. Seven minutes later, the junior from Peachtree City, Georgia, found her second goal of the day, pushing it past the Patriot keeper for the third Nighthawk goal of the game.
