MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - A penalty kick goal late in the first half was all that was needed as the No. 20 University of North Georgia women's soccer team would add three more goals in the second half to beat Georgia College, 4-0, Wednesday night.
In the 43rd minute,
Katey Derkay was fouled in the box as she tried to take a shot on goal, earning a penalty that was converted by
Taylor Malasek to put the Nighthawks up, 1-0.
North Georgia didn't waste much time out of the locker room doubling the lead as
Maysoon El-Shami took a cross from
Payton Bisso and depositing it in the net in the 52nd minute.
Megan Dumond added a third UNG goal in the 70th minute off an assist from
Bailey Vessell before Derkay finished the scoring off in the 86th minute.
