Box Score 2 CLEARWATER, Fla. - The No. 3 University of North Georgia softball team opened up play at the NFCA Leadoff Classic with a split, defeating No. 19 Lenoir-Rhyne, 5-0, before falline to Harding, 5-2, in the nightcap.
GAME 1 - UNG 5, L-R 0
Kylee Smith dealt inside the circle, tossing a complete game, giving up just two hits while striking out 15 along the way.
Out of the Nighthawks' five runs, only one was earned. That came in the fourth inning when
Cheyanne Mosteller singled through the left side to score
Marley Stowers. The other four runs scored by UNG came off one of four Bear errors in the game.
GAME 2 - HARDING 5, UNG 2
A three-run homer by Hanna Jones in the bottom of the second turned out to be the difference in the nightcap. UNG got two of the runs back in the top of the fourth on singles by Mosteller and
Olivia Sinquefield.
Harding got both runs back in the bottom half of the fourth on back-to-back singles to get the game back to a three-run cushion.

Kaylyn Anthony finished the day going 3-for-8 on the day at the plate. Mosteller was 3-for-4 at the dish with three RBI and two runs scored.
- Smith had 15 or more strikeouts in a single game for the fourth time in her career.
